My Computer

1.) Browse to C:\Users\your username here\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch
2.) Right-click an open area and go New->Shortcut.
3.) Enter the following as the location: C:\Windows\System32\rundll32.exe dwmapi #105
4.) The icon will be that of a blank file. If you want to correct that, right-click on the new shortcut, select Properties, choose the Shortcut tab, and click Change Icon. You'll find the icon in the location %SystemRoot%\explorer.exe (copy-and-paste that into the box and press Enter instead of browsing) with it being just to the right of the globe icon.

Hello Zahid,

This tutorial can help show you how to create a new one to restore it.

http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/68863-flip-3d.html

Hope this helps,
Shawn

This did not work for me, because I am using Vista Home Basic. This version of Vista does not have Flip 3D.

This did not work either. When I click the shortcut, nothing happens. I'm sure I followed your instructions correctly too.

Zahid,

You will not be able to have the Flip-3D shortcut work for you since you do not have Windows Aero included in Vista Home Basic. This is why you did not have a shortcut for it in Quick Launch as well.

Instead you can only use the Alt+Tab or Ctrl+Alt+Tab shortcut keys to use switch windows instead with. :(

Sorry.

Sorry.

I never wanted the flip 3D feature. I just want the basic window switcher.. not 3D one.
