Vista - Do not have Windows Installer

Hi everyone/anyone:
I do not have Windows Installer at all. I get the following message:

The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed. Contact Support Personell.

• I have con into Microsoft support and tried to download a Stand Alone Installer-didn't work because I don't have Windows Installer.
• Tried to download Windows Installer Redistributables for Windows 4.0
• I have done a search for Windows Installer on my entire computer
• It is not listed at all in the System Configuration Utility

I am running Vista Home Premium 32 bit Service Pack 2

I would like to just start all over and take of my programs and re-load but I don't have a hard copy disk for Vista Home Premium. It was installed when I purchased the computer. I don't know how to go into the sytem boot areas so haven't touched that. I have been in the registry just didn't do anything as was unsure of what to fix to allow access on the right side.

This is so time consuming and I have exhausted all area's that I know of. I am so frustrated and it makes me dislike Vista more and more. Please Help! Thanks so much!!

What brand is your computer? I'll see if I can find instructions on how you can do a factory restore of Vista.

I did go on Hp.com/ca/support to only get overwhelmed. I guess My computer brain was getting tired. I appreciate your help so much.

Did you run off the HP Recovery discs yet - if not, that is the first thing to do. You need 2 recordable dvd's.

Do the restore from the Hard Drive - it will be faster.
