Hey all- running Home Premium 64 bit on an Asus notebook, and have come across something I've never seen on a Windows machine. It appears to be a corruption in the file system, but I'm not certain and have no idea how to proceed..
I noticed while running two separate spyware scanners that they were freezing up. I did a little more digging and found they were hanging at what seemed like an infinite loop on one directory. It essentially looked like this:
C:\Program Files (x86)\ASUS\Splendid\Apple\Mobile Device Provision\Apple\Mobile Device Provision\Apple\Mobile Device Provision\Apple\Mobile Device Provision\Apple\Mobile Device Provision\Apple\Mobile Device Provision\Apple\Mobile Device Provision.....
Now bear in mind, there is no business for a \Apple\Mobile Device Provision directory to exist in this utility's directory!
Anyway, any scan would result in a freeze that required a hard boot. I tried browsing to this directory with explorer, which would also freeze the machine.
I tried a command line "dir" listing, which only showed the first '.' directory, then froze the computer.
So, I have no idea what to do- do I try defragging? Deleting this directory?
Thanks for your help!
