Vista - moving documents between users

How do you move documents between users on the same computer using vista home premium ?

Are you trying to give them access, or do you want to move them permanently?

Either would be OK, permantly would best, right now I cant figure out why I'm having a problem....I've done this many times with no problem...till now
I have been trying to transfer with easy cable from my laptop to this user account but the files always go to my old user account that has flaws in gmail so I created a new user that works fine except that I cannot transfer documents to the correct user

Might be a permissions problem. can you go to the folder>right click>properties>security and see who the owner is and what permissions your user has

thanks, but heres more...I have the same user account on my laptop that has all that I want to transfer. This should be easy..I've done it many times, however, with the transfer cable all dbf's go to my old user account ( not open ). I can't get the documents to go to my new user account. The old account has been renamed (old) and the new user account has the same name as on the laptop.
