Hi guys,
I had been able to do it.. but wondering if its something common
Can we use the Vista Business installation cd to install vista home or Home premium??
I know the repair works with any vista installation cds

Hello Ashvin, and welcome to Vista Forums.

If you have a retail Vista installation DVD, then yes you can. However, the product key number that you currently have can only be used with the original Vista edition that you purchased. You cannot use a Vista Business key number to activate a Home Premium edition.

That might work, the Key is tied to your hardware and the cd. However, if its a retail disc, try it and see.

All the Vista dvd's include the files needed to install any Edition.

The product key you enter determines which Edition is actually installed from the dvd onto the HD.

A Business dvd and a Home Premium dvd are the same - only the product key is different.
