Vista - Hard Drive Disk Space

Hi, I am using Windows Vista Ultimate Dell 1525 Laptop, Intel CPU 1 Processor, 1.GHz, 4GB RAM, 100GB Hard Drive. The reason I am asking about my disk space is this: As I only have 100GB Storage, and I now only have 48GB left, I have noticed a slow down?,is this normal?Like Photoshop CS4 takes forever to load up, and just general browsing in my laptop.

I really do not have much running in the background, as I have turned most of it off?
Is there any other way I can speed it up more?

If its just disk space you are concerned about its probably backup, page file, hibernation file, etc

sure. did you setup backups in vista? well the back up are stored in hidden directories. there is a third party app called Treesize that will look at even the hidden directories and tell you exactly what is what.

Ok, how do I clean up the pagefile and hibernation files?

you cant clean page file. you can make it smaller but I dont suggest you do. Hibernation, if you dont use it you can turn it off and when you reboot the file will be deleted.

Are you really that short on space what is on the disk? is there more than 1 OS, lots of media files, or docs?
