man

thanks for starting the new thread. do you have a backup that we can restore from?
do you have the restore dvd from sony?

first thing we want to try is to run a system file check
go to start>search>type cmd>right click and run as admin>type sfc /scannow

what are the results at the end?

ken

Are you saying your computer is hanging because of your antivirus software? PLUS - Yo should NOT run TWO anti-virus programs at the same time.

You could turn off indexing (temporarily). Also check your processes to see what might be placing a high demand on the hd. Another possibility for high hd usage might be virus or malware. Install mawarebyes and do a thorough search. You might have to do this in safe mode.
