Hi All,

From last 2 days my pc is going sleep automatically, in the Event Viewer this are the things which i found before going to sleep state.

Event Id Source
---------------------------------

8033 BROWSER
4001 WLAN-AutoConfig
10029 DistributedCOM

Is this a virus? or is there any solution to get rid of this.

Regards,
Kartik

  1. Go to Control Panel.
  2. Open up Power Options, and click Change Plan Settings.
  3. Click Change advanced power settings. Once you do that, you would get a windows as shown below.

if the problem is going to sleep automatically Lemur's suggestion might eliminate it. My question is the event viewer event ID's you list are they errors (marked with a red "X" in the left hand column) or information alerts (with yellow triangle). the three you list are just responses to the sleep state which something is initiating.

Do you have sleep and or hibernation set? when going to sleep does the HD spin down?

we need some more information on how it goes to Sleep

Actually at night i kept some downloading at midnight it had gone to sleep, and today while am watching online movie suddenly it gone to sleep mode.

In the event viewer there is no kind of error or warnings, all the ones I mentioned are normal messages dispalyed in Event viewer.
there are no errors and warnings.

As per lemur suggestion how changing the start menu power button will resolve the issue?

Just for the heck of it, go to high performance (illustrated above), and disable sleep mode. Then let us know if it is still entering sleep mode...
