pagefile.sys

The pagefile is an extension of RAM on your HD. (If you have 4GB RAM + 4GB pagefile, your total virtual memory is 8GB, though paging is much slower than real RAM). I generally don't suggest reducing the pagefile, it helps. But if you're concerned about free space on your hard disk, here's how to reduce/eliminate paging:

Press Win+R and type sysdm.cpl and follow:

As you can see, you may let your system automatically manage everything for you, or you can select a custom size for your pagefile, or disallow paging. Hope this helped!
