I added a second user for a short time and then returned to a single user. Unfortunately there are still two users, one in C drive under User and one on my Desktop. Files are duplicated in both automatically when I create them. How do I rid myself of my desktop user safely?

did you remove the other user? if not when removing click delete files. If you have and the files on the desktop are the other user and you dont need them simply delete them. (may have to take ownership first)
