How to shrink Volume C: in Vista?

Hi, everybody, iam new here in this forum. I hope that you can help me.

I have an Laptop, with Vista on it. But on local disk C: are 240 GB and in Local disk D: are 10 GB. I have red many Tutorials and i know how to shrink Local disk C:, and tu create another. I go to Computer Manager, click on Storage and than on Disk Manager, and than they apear the hard disks. I click on lacal disk C: with the right taste, and go to Shrink Volume, i got an window, but the problem is that in the window the SHRINK button is Grayed out. I red in some tutorials that need to Defragment the C: Drive, and i did it but it helped not. What can i do??? Please help me!!!!

i find using a third party program is always better.
i use easeus partition manager;it has a simple layout to it, which makes it a lot easier to modify the partitions..
also shows size of partition in gigabytes, not megabytes.
