hey all.



my neighbour has asked me to take a look at her laptop because her laptops keyboard laoyut is wrong.

i have tried to change the regional options but they are already set to uk settings.

i am stumped by this.

can anyone help please?

i am having to use thjs on screen keyboard to type this post.

oh by the way it is an xp pro laptop.

this is the only support frum i am registered with.

the laptop is a fujitsu siemens c series lifebook.

hope someone can help

Hello again Modus Im sure you have thought of the correct driver, right? Is it wired, bluetooth, or wireless? If wired usb, or PS/2? computer make and model

Hi Guys..

Appologies for not getting back sooner. I have only jusy managed to get back onto the internet.

I have found the solution for my above issue.

Please do not laugh, but the numb lock key was on.

I was asked to take a look at the laptop because of various issues.
the main thing I noticed was that she had No AV software on her laptop and never had done.
So it was riddled with viruses.

this is what gave me the imprssion that it maybe A virus issue.

Having spent most of last night cleaning various malware issues out of her laptop.

it then dawned on me that thre is NO numb lock ight on her keyboard.
I then duely pressed the numb lock button to the off position.

anf then it was fixed... relief.

There is still one issue I amhaving with it though.

She complained it was repeatedly shutting down.

Well it no longer seems to be shutting down after the virus and spyware removal tols I use.

But. there is no windows update option in the programs menue.
I can now download and install updated. but I wanted to ask is there anything else i coild try to get windows uodate back!
