Vista not restarting automatically

I have a multi boot system with XP, Vista, 7 (RC1) and Ubuntu. If I select "restart" in order to reboot, it just waits until I do a hard reset. If I select shutdown, then it does so. Neither XP or 7 has this problem. Any fix for this ?:(

If you choose other options - such as shutdown - will it comply?

The hard drive light stays on, with a constant glow. Not sure if the cpu is active though. How can I tell ? Pressing and releasing the Num Lock key maybe to check if the light goes on and off ?

Stoneyz, I am not sure you understand his problem.

Whenever he tries to "Restart" nothing happens. He then has to resort to just clicking the shut down button, and that works fine. I'm pretty sure that should clear it up if you didn't realize.
