I run Vista 64x , Athelon processor,4 gb ram, nvidia g force 9200 video.

Lately I've having the moniter going black for no reason. I have to manually shut down the computer, turn it back on, go throught the "windows shut down unexpectedly" screen etc.

My (Norton) anti-virus is up to date and shows no unusuall finds over the last month or so.

I was able to retrieve the following error message:

OS Version: 6.0.6002.2.2.0.768.3
Locale ID: 1033Additional information about the problem: BCCode: 1a BCP1: 0000000000008887 BCP2: FFFFFA80003A74C0 BCP3: FFFFFA800099C900 BCP4: 0000000000000104 OS Version: 6_0_6002 Service Pack: 2_0 Product: 768_1Files that help describe the problem: C:\Windows\Minidump\Mini101609-01.dmp C:\Users\bruce&janice\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-52837-0.sysdata.xml C:\Users\bruce&janice\AppData\Local\Temp\WER2644.tmp.version.txt

Any help with this would be appreciated. Also I've made no recent changes to any settings.

Thanks in advance.

I also ran an sfc scan.
it found and repaired a corrupt file and could not repair another.
There is a large cbs.log file the scan referred me to, but its not within my skills to decipher it.

Make sure your video card driver is up to date. If you said the screen is going completely black... this might be when Windows is automatically trying to install the update but it fails. Let me know if it is up to date.

Good idea, Deception.
I did have to update the driver.
Since this is an intermittant problem i'll have to wait a while to see what happens.

Alright well just keep me updated with what goes on. :D
