Solved Eliminate locking

donky

I'm running Vista & I wish to eliminate the locking procedure. I wish to have Vista loaded at start-up & have my desktop displayed at all times without signing in as user or admin. I will use a screensaver. Is this possible?
Thank You

so to clarify you just want to leave your pc to boot and when it boots it just takes itself straght to desktop without you having to click a particular account or use a login password?

is there only you who uses the pc? do you only have/need one account? what comes up when you have to login is there more than one account?

when you exit from your screensaver does it ask for a password? is that what you mean?

anythings possible here mate ;) if we know what you want ;)

Thank You for the come-back, Mate. Yes, I'm the only user. Yes, I only need one account. Yes, more than one account comes up--Owner--don k9my name & guest. I'm not presently using a screensaver. I intend to, if I can go back to basics.
Thank you, again.

My Computer

1
Click Start>>Control Panel
Under "User Accounts and Family Safety" click "Add or Remove User Accounts".
Click the Guest Account. Now click "Turn off the guest account".

2
Now go to you desktop.
Right-Click>>Personalize>>Screensaver.
UNCHECK "On resume, display logon screen"

3
If you use a password to logon you will have to remove that too.
To remove password:
Click Start, then click your picture displayed on the top right of the start menu.
Click Remove Password, enter your current password, then remove password.

If you do not have a password, ignore 3.

Now restart and you should be taken to your desktop, without the logon screen.

Thank You for the comeback. I have tried the procedure 3 times exactly as you instruct--it has not worked. After each restart, I have gone in to user accts & screensaver & both boxes are still unchecked, yet I still recv the login screen. HELP!

What exactly do you see in the logon screen?
How many user accounts do you see?
Do you have to enter a password?

Ayson,
While preparing my reply to your questions, I observed that I was still seeing 2 users, even after deleting guest. It occured to me that you wanted me to see only 1 user. I deleted the user which I do not use & restarted --bingo--I now boot directly onto my desktop, as I wish. It even saved the files in that user to a folder on my desktop. You're amazing!! Thank you for your help & patience. I see you are in India--if I knew the word "bingo" in your language I would have used it. Have a great Day. ;)

Ayson, I hope you don't mind one more question. I'm new to this forum. Is there a way to go directly to my threads without scrolling thru all threads? Thank You in advance.

I assume CP means Control Panel. I'm not familiar with that. I tried to find it--no success. Can you help further.
Thank You for the comeback.
