USB Ports not working correctly - Home Premium 32bit
Hello everyone I'm in need of a little help.
Having just received a newly-built custom PC, I was wanting to transfer some files from my old one, like you would...
...except whenever I connect ANY USB Storage device (either my little 4GB memory stick, or my 120GB portable hard drive), Windows Explorer promptly crashes. This seems to happen a short while after I try any data transfer. If I try to restart Explorer, everything disappears until I remove the USB drive.
I'm not wholly convinced it's the USB ports (my mouse is USB-driven and working), and at the same time I'm not convinced it's the devices (as both work on my laptop with the same OS)
I have SP2 installed as well, which makes the problem even more perplexing.
I'm hoping that someone would be able to help me, and thanks for reading through the paragraphs I've wrote
EDIT: I've also used the Event Viewer to find out what exactly the problem is, and it's given me an EventID of 1002. Please help!

Re: USB Ports not working correctly - Home Premium 32bit
Will the mouse work in the problematic USB ports, or did you try the devices in all ports? How about trying to disable autoplay? (Press Start -> type autoplay) It may be just be some content on the devices...
