Hey

Ive had this problem for while, its about time i sort it out. I cannot turn media sharing off. When i access the option through control panel the 'ok' button just fades when clicked, and so doesn't change a thing. Also, annoyingly, everytime i open media player it prompts me about sharing, but i cant do anything about it anyway!!

Actually, while im here, My media player is buggered aswell. I cannot add files, delete files, rate files. And wmplayer.exe is running in the background at startup, which prevents me from opening it until i end the process. The program is not on my startup list, ive checked that several times.

Im running vista home prem 32bit, and wmp11.

Hope someone can help me out.

cheers

One reason you cant is the WMP sharing service called WMPntwrk. open task manager and look for it. right click and end process. then try turning off the sharing

Good luck and let us know if that doesnt help

Hi Ken

wmpnetwrk.exe wasnt running, but wmpnscfg.exe was. This process just starts up again when the network config screen opens, and of course the screen closes when i end the process, but i still have means of selecting ok.

I have tried starting up in basic mode using msconfig, but these processes are still up and running, weird.
