Downgrade vista 64 bit to 32 bit

Hi:
I've just bought for my brother a new laptop (Toshiba sat A355-S6998)(Core 2 Duo 2.0 Ghz , 4 GB ram) with Vista home premium 64 bit OS on it, but i want to downgrade it to vista home premium 32 bit, because the programes my bro want to use in his study didn't work due to incompatibility issues "Autocad 2004 or 2007 versions only" and other programes...
Now, is this downgrade safe? Am i going to face any problems after that? I've heard that even the platform or hardware in 64 bit differ from 32 bit, is that right?
Note: A computer technician is going to perform the downgrade.

Your technician is going to have to wipe the HD and re-install win 7 32bit. Make sure you have anything you need backed up incase.

One thing to know is you won't be able to use all 4GB of RAM on that computer. I personnally think you could get Windows 7 64bit Pro, which has the Windows XP mode, but that would depend on what other people think as well.

I do quite agree with zigzag here though.

Yeah 32 bit wont be able to support all 4gbs of ram and its generally not as safe from spyware as 64 bit is but u get more compaitability and less problems in some senses!
