| Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit | CPU not connecting to monitor? Erm, my CPU seems unalble to connect to the monitor for no reasons. It happened recently tho. The screen just goes to sleep and not react when i turn on my CPU. Any way i can fix this? Using Windows Vista 32bit wif 1gig of ram made by HP. This happened after my CPU gave off a weird beeping sound when it booted. Tho now there arent any beepings. |

| Windows Vista Home Basic 6002 Service Pack 2 32-bit | Re: CPU not connecting to monitor? by the way CPU stands for 'central processing unit'. do you know the rhythm of the beeping when your hp wouldn't start up? if something is wrong with the system, the computer will emit a series of beeps as you said to diagnose the problem. If any you hear any beeps, try and remember the rhythm. Dom |

| Windows Vista Home Basic 6002 Service Pack 2 32-bit | Re: CPU not connecting to monitor? lol ok. i am probably wrong then! you might need to install out-of-date drivers for your monitor or graphics card. go to the start menu and type in search 'device manager' and press enter. look at all the devices and if there is a yellow triangle beside the monitor or display adapter , double click and look for a button named 'update driver'. if there is an update, let is install and reboot. tell us the result. | Vista Ultimate SP2 x64 : Seven Ultimate x64 | Re: CPU not connecting to monitor? The beeps that occur during POST (Power On Self Test when you first turn of the PC) give an indication where the problem lies. Each motherboard manufacturer has a different set of 'beeps' that relate to a particular hardware component that is in trouble. For example: BIOS Beep Codes - HP Customer Care (United States - English) When you start the PC, even though the screen isn't on, does: Windows load? ie you can hear the start up sound Is there any hard drive activity? ie the HDD light flashes like normal Or does it turn on and then do absolutely nothing - no HDD activity etc I suspect that it may be a RAM issue, however without knowing your specs or the actual beep codes, It's difficult to determine what the exact problem is. |

| Vista home premium 64 bit | Re: CPU not connecting to monitor? If your tower is still within a year old and you have not changed any hardware then get the store that sold it to you to fix it. If it is within a year old look at the link smarteyeball posted. Either way, let us know how it went. |

And im unable to confirm if wad i heard was correct. Is there a possiblity that if the screen cant load, theres no way of saving it? I mean, if im going to fix it i have to change something inside windows? Sorry but im really poor in computer skills |
