Vista - Very long response after rightclick

Hi

This problem have been bugging me for about a year now. Whenever I bring up a new window (where you can browse for files), when opening, saving or importing something into the applications, so when I rightclick anywhere (the space, the folders or files), it just hangs for a minute (sometimes longer), while I see an hourglass-mouse-cursor, and I can't do anything about that window. I can tab to other programs, though.

Sometimes there is also the same delay, when I right-click an icon (of an application that does not exist) on my Quick Launch bar.

I have tried different applications, like ShellX, ShellMenuView and ProcMon. I've also tried removing some keys in regedit, to get rid of the extra rightclick options (like Winrar).

Please help me. This annoys me so much, that I consider moving on to Win7.

My specs: 4GB, Core 2 Duo E8200 2.66GHz, SP2

update: the problem is only on my own standard visual theme, not vistas default

i would consider moving onto windows 7 anyway just because of how good it is. but I cant suggest a reason for your lagging right click without knowing file sizes or your system specs nor more information about your problem.

update: forget my previous update. It's not the theme.

When I for instance go into MSPAINT, go into File > Open. That little Window that pops up, where I can chose my files, folders, etc. When I slightly RESIZE it to become larger than the default size, and rightclick anywhere, it comes up instantly. That is so wierd!

update: ok this is wierding me out. After several tests, the results are rather random. I have no probs in the open window of MSPAINT, but other applications still have that delay in the open window. I am experimenting with this further

update2: All the Windows built-in programs have no this problem, where all the other programs, do.

Please suggest me something to fix this
