Cruzer USB 2.0 Flash Drive?

Hello Bud,
Save (export) your favorites to the usb drive.
Plug it in to the laptop, start IE, (make sure both versions are the same), go to File>import and export> and just follow the on screen instructions.
Hope this helps, good luck and post your results.

Stoney, thanks for your reply. I do believe I stumbled onto a way to transfer my old to the new. Hopefully. Went to "Windows File Transfer" transferred all my files onto my Flash Drive and I am now downloading it onto my Laptop. Will let you know if all is well.

Update. It did not work, it said not enough space to complete download. What I want to do is just transfer the favorites not the whole she-bang. Will work on it tomorrow.

Your internet explorer favorites are stored here:

c:\documents and settings\%user%\favorites

NOTE: %user% = your username

Click start >
go to computer >
click documents and settings >
click on your username >
click on the favorites folder >
now, on the keyboard, hold control or ctrl and hit A then hit C while still holding control >
that will copy all of your favorites for you >
then plug in the cruzer driver >
navigate back to my computer >
open the cruzer driver >
then right click anywhere in that window and click paste > done :)

Go to your IE and follow the pictures. when all done, you will find the favorites (bookmarks) in the folder you have set in step 9 (which could be your USB stick). Then on the other system, you just go the Import route.

I have not had time to check out these last 2 solutions but thanks. I have restored my system to an earlier date in hopes it will get me on the right track. One thing I noticed was one referred to "My Computer" , Don't find it.

I am not sure his solution is going to work. Transferring the "Favorites" file is not going to make the favorites work in another IE. Usually it requires the Export/Import from IE. I would be interested to know how the OP made out.

Far be it for me to question your post. All I know is I was able to trans. my favorites to my laptop which is a Windows 7 and my PC is a Vista. I was not able to do it with the Import/Export function. To be sure I had my favorites from my PC on my Laptop, I just went and tried it before I make this post. Hmmm, don't ask me how it happened. Thanks again.

PS Don't know what you mean with the last sentence OP?

Well, good. If it worked, that`s all you can ask for. Btw: I transferred my Favorites from Vista to Win7 with the procedure I described and it worked well. But to everybody his own method. I will try your method on occasion because I am really intersted whether that will work in all cases.
