| Vista Business 64bit | Where is processor name filled in? Hi, There are many programs, which get our processor name (e.g. "QuadCore Intel Core 2 Q9550, 2833 MHz (8.5 x 333)" in Everest). I wonder if I could deceive these programs by changing some variable (in register?), so programs couldn't get my real processor name. Thanks |

| Vista Home Premium 32bit and Kubuntu 9.10 | Re: Where is processor name filled in? I don't think you would be able to. I think that your processor name is written inside of your BIOS. I guess you could try making your own BIOS but i wouldn't recommend it. |

| Vista Home Premium 32 bit | Re: Where is processor name filled in? Of all the things I can think of that I might want to hide, the processor name isn't even close to one of them. Maybe if he takes it out and pries it apart he can find it under a magnifying glass and scrape it off :> |
