Desktop Background (wallpaper) doesn't show Pic.

    Desktop Background (wallpaper) doesn't show Pic.

    Ok in Vista x64 going to change Wallpaper but all I can see is the icon and no picture same goes in Windows Explorer, NO Picture just the Icon.
    Preview of the Pic should be there right?

    Thanks for any suggestions anyone might provide.

    Hello Gumby,

    I'm not sure of what you mean. If you do not have any wallpapers to select from, then you can use step 4 in the tutorial below to browse to the location where the wallpaper is saved at so you can select it.

    Ah, ok. In Default Programs, double check to make sure that Windows Photo Gallery is set as the default program with all of it's association set to it as well. If that still does not help, then rebuild the icon cache.

    LOL ok, you're almost there then. Check to make sure that you have thumbnail previews turned on for Windows Explorer.

    Yes that was already checked, but unchecked then ok, no change then rechecked it again.
    Also did the Performance Opts...

    Going to reboot PC to see if that helps.

    Also I have several folders with a bunch of pics in them located under user name and pictures folder, does that make any difference?

    Now I starting to get pissed.

    I've done everything suggested so far....even rebuilding the icon cache.

    Any other idea's other then installing the new Win 7...LOL

    BTW I'm using Vista 64 Ultimate

    Ok ....FINALLY got it working.

    I downloaded the Reg key installed it and then rebooted then turned OFF Allways Show icons, Never Thumbnails.

    For reasons beyond my understanding this worked.
