Deleting a hiberfil.sys File

Hi Folks. I'm running Vista Ultimate. The Hard Drive is all but full (It currently has less than 1.29 GB but last night it was down to just 4 MB), and it appears that hiberfil.sys is the culprit. I've checked "Google", but the directions that subsequently appear don't seem to tie up with my computer. Could someone please tell me as soon as possible how to "kill" / delete / get rid of the hiberfil.sys please. Please keep the instructions simple because I'm not especially computer savvy and my son (who is a trained IT technician) is currently out of reach somewhere in South America! I look forward to hearing from someone in the near future. LanKey
