How do I format vista 64bit ?

I've been having driver issues up the arse, and i want and end, a fresh start!

I have looked how do format but its either something is missing or its totally different for me.
I wack the windows disk in, boot from that. Then windows pretty much reinstalls, never giving me the option to format the hard drive. Maybe its a really small button that if you miss it you cant go back, but i cant find it.

My pc is a custom build so maybe that has something to do with it?

Any ideas?

If all else fails I might just throw this hard drive out the window and buy a new one.

Welcome to the Forums! You are wanting to format your Windows drive, and start over? Let me get this right: you boot from the install DVD and hit install, and the screen where it asks where to install never comes up?

not quite the install screen comes up, i follow it, and it creates a folder where it dumps all my files naming it 'old windows'

There should also be a couple of option at the bottom, one of which is "Repair your computer". After you hot install, what is the very next screen you see?
