You can go to MSCONFIG & Stop some Item's from the startup
Which will help you to boot the speed of the computer
Clcik on start
Type MSCONFIG in start search
in tht go to Startup Tab Uncheck items which you dont want or you dont use on the computer
or
Can Click on >> click on RUN >> type MSCONFIG >> click on ok >> Startup Tab Uncheck items which you dont want or you dont use on the computer

You can speed up your system shut down by tweaking the time out.

Open up Regedit from start => regedit (type it into start search)

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control] is where you want to end up, so navigate that way.

look for "WaitToKillServiceTimeout". Right click on it, and select modify - change it to 1000

Default Value WaitToKillServiceTimeout=20000
modded value WaitToKillServiceTimeout=1000

On the right panel look for the "WaitToKillServiceTimeout" string and change it value to 1000 by right clicking the string and selecting Modify..

The answer to the question instead of saying ways to tweak is this: No, having multiple hard drives does not make a boot slower than with a single hard drive.
