Solved Windows Explorer will not paste file(s)

Windows Explorer had been working fine but now it won't (1) resize to full screen, (2) paste any file anywhere or allow me to drag and drop files. This latter one also won't work on my desktop. What gives? Can I uninstall Windows Explorer and reinstall? Will the 'recovery disks' that came with the computer allow this to happen?

Also, I have a file I want to inspect, a CBS.log file, and it says I need the administrator permission to do this. How do I obtain this. I'm no dummy when it comes to computers but I cannot figure this one out on Vista.

Thanks ahead for your help.:(

Hello Racer, If you open a elevated command prompt (Run as administrator) and type; findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log >%userprofile%\Desktop\sfcdetails.txt then press enter, this will create a cbs log on your desktop that you can view

Hello Mitchell,

I tried your suggestion but all I get is a blank screen. I did find out how to log on as administrator and that was the result.

Also, I found out how to keep the original size of the window by reading here in the forums AND the great news is that Windows Explorer started to copy/cut and paste again. I have no idea how or why.

Don't you just love Windows. All versions are such a challenge!

Thanks for the try.
