Can "regedit" fine-tune brightness of the display?

using : vista x64 + bootcamp in imac.
With lowest brightness level, the display still appears too bright in dark environment.
Any idea, under "regedit" can adjust brightness of the backlight?

    Thanks

the registry keys are part of the operating system - the monitor (laptop, i presume?) isn't part of the operating system, part of the hardware even. there is only integrated controls in the hardware to allow vista to change the brightness via Power Options.

    sorry,
