Hi everyone,
I was trying to copy some files and only recently noticed Windows reporting wrong number of files. I'm wondering if this is a known issue with Vista or am I having some problems with my PC.
I have 32 bit Windows Vista Home Premium running Service Pack 2.
I checked the properties on the folder I want to copy by right clicking on it and selecting Properties. The Properties dialogue box reports 187,528 files. But when I drag the folder to copy it, the Copy dialogue box says Items Remaining is 201,930 files.
Where did the 14,000 come from while copying? I have a bunch of .zip and .rar files, could the copy dialogue be reporting the files inside these files? I am logged in with administrator privileges and I have Folder Options to show all hidden and system files so I should be able to see all the files.
When I try a sub-folder, it also shows higher number of Items Remaining to be copied than what the properties box reports.
Thanks for your help,
Alex
