Problems after a power flash

Hello, i'm new to the forum and after googling my problem, I found my way here.

The power flashed last night and now my laptop won't start. I'm given the option of startup repair or regular start up (reg begins, but goes to a lit dark screen and stays there so I do the repair start up) and when I do so the computer states that it cannot be repaired automatically and the explanation message is:

Problem event name: StartuprepairV2
Problem signature 01: Autofailover

I'm sure this means something to someone, but certainly not to me. The computer was working fine last night and not this morning, so I assume last night's power flash was to blame. I can access the boot menu and diagnostic type menus but when I try to start in safe mode it stops loading and asks me to wait, without completing start up. Does anyone have any input? I'm sorry if i've not provided enough information- i'm not very technologically savvy. Please ask questions if need be and i'll do my best to answer them.

Thank you so much.

Hi Anthony.

Nope, charger is fine and it does the same thing under battery power. This is a Dell system, but I had loads o' trouble when I ran a Toshiba. Inverter and power cord/charger both.

Thanks for the suggestion.
