Dear All,

I have purchased Dell Inspiron 1525 in June 2008 in US. For the past 2-3 weeks, my laptop is abruptly shutting down, this is causing lot of inconvenience to me (as I am loosing my work).

Currently, I am in Hyderabad India on vacation. The 1yr warranty period has been completed for this laptop.

Can u please provide any solution for this problem or please provide reliable service center details for Dell to solve this issue.

Thanks in adv,
Kishore

Hi and welcome to the Vista forums!

This looks like overheating to me. You could try getting a can of air and blowing it in the vents, but it's always better brigning it to a computer shop for them to open it to blow the dust out of the laptop.

Does this happen when you are on the battery or not? I know that my pc would randomly shut off at 20 percent charge when it felt like it. You are probably in a hotter environment right now. Go on google and search for CPU Temp and run the program. Record your temps and post them on here. You may be overheating/you may not be overheating. Do you have a Core2Duo in the notebook? They cause alot of heat under heavy use so that may hurt you a little bit too.

Hope this helps.
