Hey guys,

I am new to the forums here, and thanks for reading this thread and any possible solutions use may have to hopefully solve my problem. I recently as of two days ago upgraded my Desktops RAM and changed my Network Card through Techguys at PC world, Every thing was working fine the first day until Yesterday. I was playing world of warcraft and the game completely existed like a hard reset or (ALT F4) back to the desktop. This happend about five times over the coarse of two hours. So i decided to restart the computer and I noticed a error message pop up and before i could read it the computer had rebooted. So in the end i had to take a picture to see what the error was and this is what it read:

Dwm.exe - Application Error

The instructions at 0x022d3dd7 referenced memory at 0x022d3dd7. THe memory could not be written.

Click on Ok to terminate the program.

I read through a few forums regarding the Dwm.exe - Application Error problems and it said that it might be bad RAM and so to firstly to check the computers RAM with a memory diagnostics test which came back negative with problems or try a system restore, which is what i did and this error went away, and another error came up instead reading:

Explorer.exe - Application Error

The instructions at 0x100028f6 referenced memory at 0x100028f6. THe memory could not be read.

Click on Ok to terminate the program.

Then i went to work for a couple of hrs, came home and just decided to restart the computer again to see if it changed again and a different value error a such came up again reading:

Explorer.exe - Application Error

The instructions at 0x10003dd7 referenced memory at 0x10003dd7. THe memory could not be read.

Click on Ok to terminate the program.

These errors only came up during Restart or shutdown barely flashing up in frnt of the screen before the computer shutdown. List of the things i have done to check for problems:

- Full Memory Diagnostics Test which came back Negative.

- Tried Restoring the system back a week which hasnt worked.

- Ran a SFC which found no problems.

- Checked the event Viewer for the error which is not showing anything at the time the error pops up, this is only showing the following errors reading:

The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load:
i8042prt
tclondrv
TfFsMon
TfSysMon

Second error:

The name "WORKGROUP :1d" could not be registered on the interface with IP address 192.168.1.27. The computer with the IP address 192.168.1.1 did not allow the name to be claimed by this computer.

Well i think that is everything that i have done so far, Sorry for the long post tried to put as much useful info and what i have done into it as possible, My Computer is a 32bit OS with Vista Home Premium, I will supply my computers spec if requested. Looking forward to some help as its been wrecking my head all day. Thanks again.

Hey Ciiaran,

Welcome to Vista Forums!!!! Great first post! We are here to help!:party::party::party:
I noticed that you have SP2 installed. Is this correct? If so, i would suggest you uninstall SP2 and go back to SP1. I, personally, have found quite a few glitches with SP2 involving upgrades. Second, did you install your network card driver? If not, you should do this.
Also, any work you have saved that you may need, you should back up. Just play it safe incase anything happens.

Let us know,
Ben

Hey Ben,

Thanks for the quick response, and thanks, I tried to put as much in with out rammbling :D, Yes i am currently running SP2, which im finding is causing alot of errors/glitches with the computer espically after a software update. And Yes i have uninstalled and reinstalled the Network card just to see if that might help in anyway which it did when i restarted the computer there was no error, but the error came up again when i was finished and when to shutdown the computer. I will be making a back up of my computers stuff and possibly trying a full system reset to see if it might clear any problems laying around. Thanks.

Ciaran,
Before doing and type of restore, do the back up (should always do this first before messing with things!!!!) then you should open up your windows updates and uninstall your SP2 update.

Let me know if this helps,
Ben
