windows explorer slow and not responding

For the last week now my windows explorer has developed a small problem is slow loading my whole computer is working fine but when i open windows explorer takes about half a minute to load if i click on it while its loading is stops responding once it has come up i can go in and out of folders no problem its just the time it takes to load in the first place which is frustating any ideas on how to sort it would be apreciated

Hello,
I am also experiencing the same problem.
Tried to figure it out and so typed and visited many sites directed from Google from this sort of problem only to find the majority of sites reporting back that issues with .cpl files (mostly Firebird1.cpl etc).

If you guys solved this, i would love to hear.
