Solved USB Devise Not Recognized

Hi

I am wanting some help please.

I have a Laptop operating on Vista, I prefer to use a USB mouse rather than using the touchpad as I find it quicker to use.

Everything was working perfectly, then I kept hearing the noise, the noise when you insert and take out a mouse du du noise, it happened a few times then all of a sudden there was the USB Devise Not Recognised on my computer.

The message is flashing up every few seconds!!!
I have tried re-booting it - no joy
I have tried using the other 2 USB ports - no joy
Service pack 3 is now installed - hasn't changed anything
I have tried another mouse - no joy - that does the same
I have tried clicking on the message then letting the computer sort it out for me - no joy

I am running out of ideas?

Can anybody help me please?

Hello Deals, and welcome to Vista Forums.

Does your mouse have a driver, or a newer driver version available? If so, then you may need to install them first before it will work properly.

If it was working perfectly well before, then you might do a system restore using a restore point dated before it stopped working to hopefully fix it for you.
