Windows Explorer Not Responding (New 15.12.09)

I know that several million people have had this problem, but I haven't found anything that is similar to mine. Please help!

I wasn't doing anything in particular (other than watching videos online), when the Blue Screen came up. I kind of got frustrated since it's happened several times over the last few years, but I figured if I just start it up again like normal, it would be fine. All other times, my laptop had no trouble restarting after a Blue Screen, but today.

I logged into my account (sole account) and waited for the desktop to load. The computer stated "Please Wait" or whatever it says before it loads the desktop. It took longer than usual, so I got a little worried. After the screen turned to a light blue colour (the colour that the desktop usually is when my photobackground lags when loading). A window popped up and stated that Windows Explorer (NOT Internet Explorer!!!) was not responding. The window that popped up looked exactly like any other one that would come up when a program stop responding. I pressed enter and a larger window popped up, asking me if I wanted to look at the problem/find a solution. When I closed the window, nothing else came up. I tried to Ctrl+Alt+Del for the Task Manager, and another window came up a few moments later, telling me the Task Manager wasn't responding either. Then the cycle of window-closing/opening happened again.

As well, the internet doesn't work either (as many you have probably already assumed) and so I wasn't able to download updates or any other thing the computer recommended I do.

I asked a friend and he recommended I log into Safe Mode (which I'm in at the moment), and create another account and try to log into the new account instead. I tried and the exact same thing happened. He told me it might be a profile problem, but it doesn't seem to be it.

Can anyone help me??? Please???

I spent a week of my own going through the stupid problems that my system causes for me. Windows is good but they try to hard.
What you can try to do( theres alot so if something dosent work you can keep asking me and ill help you out) is enable the hidden administrator account and see if you still have the same problem. If this does nothing boot up in safe mode and go to start > Run > TYPE: msconfig> and then in the general tab click selective startup and below it click on Load Startup Items (make sure the box in UN-checked. Go to services tab and look to the bottom and click on Hide all microsoft services, Then click diasable all. After this click on the Startup tab and disable all. Now restart you system and see if it boots properly, it may be a little slow but it will hopefully work. If your computer boots and everything seems to be working properly and in order, it is one of those that was making your computer malfunction. At this time you could also do a system restore to a time where your PC did infact work.

If you have any other problems, or your still having the same one theres tons of things i can think of. Just let me know. . :)

Thanks a lot for your reply!!

I actually got to talking to a friend who actually recommended the steps you did, but it unfortunately didn't work. Instead, we tried a system restore and I got my laptop back to normal (yay!), so I guess I don't really know what happened to it...

In any case, thanks again!
