I am running a HP vista 64bit , it is 6 months old. Some days I lose almost 2gb of space. Now its showing HP C 368 GB free of 452 then it has a factory image D 1.80Gb free of 12.8. At the rate it is going I will be out of free space soon. I bought this because it had 6 GB I really thought that was a lot. I have deleted pictures and all the games on it to gain space and instead I lost 2 GB. I even stopped updates and select only the ones that are important. Is there any suggestions or why this is happening. I hardly even use my pc so it frustrating to check my drives and find out more is missing. Please help anyone??
1) Run a full system scan with Malwarebytes offline aftewr updating in safe mode.
2) Schedule a chkdsk scan - in properties tools check for errors of your hard drive and tick both boxes.
3) Type disk into the start menu and then choose files from all users on the computer - then in more options choose clean up all but the newest restore points. Then get rid of other stuff - tick temp files, setup files, hibernate if you don't use it. Reboot.
Ok, how do I run a ckdisk scan? I went to tools it shows the errors should I just clear them all? I used to do a check disk scan on windows xp but don't know how to do it on Vista?
