I searched around and couldn't find a good thread that deals with this specifically.
I want to do a clean install of Vista Home Premium x64, however all I have are the 3 system recovery DVD's I created on my HP. The PC didn't come with an OEM style disk like back in the good ol days. I'm familiar with doing an install with an OEM Windows CD, but I want to get this PC back to original configuration and can't for the life of me figure out how. Any tips would be great. Thanks.
Just put the DVD disc 1 in the tray and reboot the computer. It should directly boot from the DVD, reformat the computer all by itself. I had to do it a couple months ago. You shouldnt have a problem. Just insert the next disc when it says to an your in the clear. It is restore it back to when you first turned it on.

Thanks blackhawk. I think I just found it. There's an "advanced options" button that was very small and I didn't notice. That's where the "restore to factory setting" option was. Before that, it just kept asking me to restore to a recovery point, which I didn't want to do. Hopefully this will work.
