How to Retrieve Lost Vista Activation Key

Hi All,

I have actually lost my vista cd and its key because it came separatly with my dell laptop. Since its been couple of years I didn´t need to install the OS, i actually lost my vista cd and its key came with it because of moving house during that time.
Now I have installed it from my friend´s cd but need to give my own cd key to activate the windows, since I have only 20 days left. Kindly help me to retrieve my vista key which should be registered with microsoft.

Hello Umer, and welcome to Vista Forums.

If you still had that activated Vista installed, you could of used the tutorial below to retrieve the product key number. :(

You might see if the sticker on the bottom of your laptop that has your product key number on it may still work for you if it came with Vista originally.

Go to dell.com and go to support, use your service tag or express ID and you can get it on their website. If you are having trouble, you can call them and they should be able to guide you online to get it.
