Hi,
I was using Windows Vista Ultimate on my laptop and was trying to compress my c: because of the drive being almost full and suddenly the computer shut down by itself and now it shows an error message "Bootmgr is compressed" and "press Ctrl + Alt + Del to restart" and does not boot. I have read many threads on this forum and they all say the same thing about booting the OS from a cd. But the thing is that I have a Compaq laptop and a friend of mine loaded this OS from his cd which is not available to me now. So, would any other cd do the job or do I need to buy one??I need my system back the way it was because the softwares installed are really important for me. Moreover, I need help as soon as possible.
