My current computer has 4 DDR2 240pin RAM slots. Slots 1 &3 are populated each with 2X512 meg DDR2 memories making a total of 2G . I would like to increase the RAM capacity. I understand that a 32bit Vista OS will only address up to 3.5G max . The question is whether I should install 2X1G in the remaining 2 slots making a total of 4G even tho it will cost more and not used optimally rather than adding just 2X 512 meg and then having to add more RAM if I upgrade to a 64bit system in the future. .Tks

It looks like you only have 1GB!!
You would have to put four 1GB sticks to get max. 32bit will only see and use about 3.5!

do this: go to start > right click "computer" choose properties, and see what windows recognizes. (see attached)

good luck
