Where is my missing .pst file?

I'd like to make a backup of my Outlook.pst file. When I do a search, I'm told it's at: C:\users\home\appdata\local\microsoft\outlook\outlook.pst. However, when I try to go to that location, I can get to C:\users\home\. There is no "appdata" folder at this location.

Am I missing something?

Thanks for the reply!

This may be where I'm doing something wrong. I looked at each level (C:\Users\Home) above where the "Appdata" folder should be. None has "hidden" selected.

Is there a secret to showing "hidden" files in Vista?

(Sorry for misspelling your name on my last post!)

I figured it out. I "discovered" that I can search for hidden files/folders in Advanced Search (as you might guess, I'm a coplete novice at Vista). I found the APPDATA file and changed its attributes. Everything is fine now.

Thanks again!

Glad you found a way to do it Travis. The usual way is by accessing the Folder & Search Options on the Organize menu. Select the view tab and scroll down until you see the option to check "Show Hidden Files & Folders". However, since you say you are a novice it is probably better not to have them shown permanently. Since you managed to work it out yourself I guess you won't be a "novice" for long. :)
