I hope someone can help me solve these two problems occurring on my system, VISTA HOME PREIUM 32BIT SP2, NORTON INTERNET SECURITY 2010, NORTON UTILITIES, WEBROOT WINDOW WASHER. here's my problems:
1) It's now taking me 3 minutes to startup from a cold start.
2) Same about of time to shut down.
3) IE8 kees crashing. What I'm doing now is running in the IE* mode with no ADD-ONs.

Boot up do this to find out the problem:

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

Shutting down: Go to task manager just before each shut down. Each time you shut down delete on of the process that show and then write it down. Next time delete another. When you get to the one that is causing the problem, we can fix it.

Crashing: Try another browser such as FF. Then we know if it is the browser or another cause.

Try removing Norton and install this and see whether that helps:
