An important question. Is your screen blank or is it blue? If it is blue you may have what is known as BSOD.

Read this do the first part if you feel that you do have a BSOD.

Then post the minidump folder and you will be helped.

[1 - Novice] How to ask for help with a BSOD problem - Windows 7 Forums

Only do this if you feel that you do have a BSOD blue screen of death. If you are not sure a quick google on the subject will tell you everything.

The part that I asked you to do is the same for Vista and Win 7

The first thing you do is run the sfc 2 or 3 more times. It is a great tool but fixes only one problem at a time.

What i think happened was that i opened an attachment that was corrupt..the message displayed when windows shuts down is only visible for half a second, so it's hard to tell if it's bsod, but i had time to read the first line of that message:a problem has been detected and windows has shut down to prevent damage to your computer..Didn't have time to read further down, windows just restarts....if its bsod, does that mean my computer is dead??? i'm trying for the third time the sfc scan now.....thanx alot for ur replies...

Sorry, that I mentioned the BSOD's d word. You have my word if it is the BSOD, but does not sound like it now, we have a BSOD, expert. He has helped everyone, who has needed it. You will be up and running again.

Did you check for the mini dump file?

Six times is enough. That will not work. See what is in your mini dump.

Look up the starting posts. I gave instructions on what it is, and how to access it. If you tell me this is not BSOD, we do not need it, we can move on.
