Black screen after loading bar

Hi

I was hoping that some of you guys could help me with a problem. As the title says, my screen goes completely black after the loading screen with the green loading bar, but before the usual windows vista circle is supposed to appear.

I have also tried to use a vista x64 recovery disk. Here I only get the blue background a mouse I can move around on the screen, meaning I have no options to choose from.

Does anyone know what the problem might be? And if so, how to possibly fix it?

im not a pro, by any means.... but if you can start in safe mode, and have a recent restore point it may be a good idea to do that....... one of my friends just went through that, just thought i might be able to help a little bit.

Excellent, by the description of the problem, it appeared that no action could be taken. If indeed you can get to a restore point or get to safe mode, take the sage advice of cpruette86. TYcpruette.

The screen is black without any text after the loading screen disappears. No blue screen I'm afraid :(

Safe mode doesn't work either. When I try to start in safe mode it just stays at "Please wait..." during the "Loading Windows Files" screen (A lot of files does get loaded though, ie. at the bottom it says "Loaded: \Windows\system32\drivers\crcdisk.sys")

i just thought of something else too, you could try uninstalling your video drivers.. and re-installing them. video driver errors are a common cause for boot freezes

it gives me an option to reply, but doesnt give me a box to type in, just shows your message
