Strange Problem

Thanks for the help guys, but today i have another problem.

Just about 1-2 weeks ago i was sitting comfortably in my living room gaming away when i noticed the game i was playing started having problems. In the mist of playing my keyboard locks up and mouse freezes and i can't move my character at all. I can't even alt+tab to task manager to fix the problem. I noticed the windows vista error sound play and then a few seconds later the game resumes normally.
I thought it was the particular game, but when i ditched it and started playing navyfield i noticed the same problem occurring there.

Anyone have any idea what could be causing this problem?
I was thinking driver related problems or possible graphics since the problem never occurs outside of gaming. When the problem happens the green lights for numb lock etc.. quickly off and on. I have disabled trusted installer thinking it was lag durring game and that cause the information to pause....I have recently reformated my hard drived with the disk that came with the computer and did a full installation of windows updates.

Microsoft® Windows Vista™ Home Basic
6.0.6000 Build 6000
Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 2.80GHz, 2792 Mhz, 1 Core(s), 1 Logical Processor(s)
Total Virtual Memory 4.19 GB

I have an external hard drive (seagate) which i installed about a month ago. I have unplugged it and still had the same problem.
I also added a 1gig mem stick before reformating.
My computer is really dusty inside and i have thought about air cleaning it with that air spray stuff, but my computer temp never goes about 104 degree f.

Im clueless on how to fix...

Could be many things, but my guess if RAM, you do not have that much.

I would:

check, for Virus.

Take memory Diagnostic Test

Check for properly working Drivers in Device manager

Use the Event Viewer,, to check for errors

Update Drivers and hardware.

Did the event viewer nothing popped up at same time i had problem.

Checking into drivers now.

How do u do a mem diagnostic test?

My cpu stays near 80% when running bout anything, but thats been that way since day one.

Type memory diagnostic in search and then click on it. If it does not show, it means not available for Vista, as it is in Win7.

Also try to type process explorer in search and download, it will show what is using your RAM.

Try tuning off you Anti Virus when playing the game, see what happens.

Also scan for Virus. Whenever there is a change, that is a good way to go.

K...found the problem..
I re downloaded AVG and modified my preferences for scanning every ounce of my computer.
Found 108 spy ware virus listed under Firefox cookies. Now everything runs great.
On a side note. I had been running a daily scan with AVG but after i modified my preferences to include other aspects of my computer....it cleaned out all the bugs..

:DThanks for the guidance!:D

Help With Monitor

I'm currently using a Dell factory monitor that came with my system (Dell Dim E520)
Recently an auto adjust thing has been poping up every so often. I think it is effecting my game play. I posted a thread and thought my problem had been resolved when i did a virus scan. After 1 day the problem i had came back but the virus are still gone.
BTW the virus was only tracking cookies..

I have tried dell community forums, but their lack of intelligent web design or my lack of intelligence to figure it out, has left me with no ability to even post my problem there.

I tried the online manual that dell provided but it said nothing about "how to disable" or "how to enable" the auto adjust feature.
I have the most recent driver for my video card and for my monitor but the problem remains...

Any ideas on where to go and what to do to get rid of the auto adjust.. or how to help me with the problem i posted in previous thread?

Monitor version: Dell E197fp

Video Chipset: Intel(R) G965 Express Chipset Family

Processor: Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 2.80GHz, 2792 Mhz, 1 Core(s), 1 Logical Processor(s)
