File Transfer

hi there. i have an issue with my 3rd sata drive only transfering files at most 11.3mb/s. now my 2nd drive will obtain upto 66mb/s. so i'm wondering what todo? thanks.:D

Are they all defragged ?.
Are they all the same spec, (speed, cache, size) ?.
Try swapping them over, swap the position/order they are recognised and see if the slow one speeds up.
Check the drivers, while Windows drivers may work for them all, one may work better with a manufacturers driver.

yes the size and cache and speed are are the same. ill give swaping them a shot after this and then let ya know. thanks for the advice:D

so i swapped the drives around and it made no change. so im lost on what to do. and i looked for drivers and there are non besides the ones windows already had.

It has to be down to the individual performance of each drive, if they were all the same make and model it would be easier to diagnose.
To completely eliminate the rest of your system, and confirm if the drive is at fault, you will need to get hold of another drive, put it in the same position and try it.
I'm afraid there is no easy fix for this.

so i tried the drive in another computer and had no issues. file transfer was around 58mb/s.

now the specs for my mobo say it can have raid, but i dont know anything about that. could it possibly improve the speed? if so im gonna have todo some more learnin:D

That may have something to do with it.
Also, have a look at the MB manufacturers site and see if there is an update for the Bios.
