Dimension E520 Fan Problem

Hey Guys,

I took on a project fixing a computer for someone. It is a 2 year old Dimension E520. The CPU/Case Fan is horribly loud, spinning at full speed after bios and must be dying. I would just replace it, however, it uses Dell's ingenious proprietary 5pin 4wire technology.

I have tried using speedfan to control the speed, but it does not want to work. Does anyone know where I can get a dell fan, or experience with this issue?

1) Easiest but costs money Upgrade to a Core 2 CPU they run cool and have DTS-Digital Thermal Support
2) if your os is x86 you can use I8Kfan gui
3) Hwinfo might work I haven't tried it yet though
4) You can get a fan off ebay
