I keep getting this message. (A problems caused this program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available)

It says, (Close Program) Then when I hit close program, it comes back and says it has recovered.

What is going on, is it because I download updates that Microsoft sends out?

I'm going to piggyback on this one: I get the same thing almost every time I open up a youtube link in another tab and close out of that tap in IE8. I really do not like it... plus mine stops responding all the time. Task Mgr to kill it and resart.

Hello xb12r,
The chances are that it is your flash player, or some other add-on in IE8.
I would try running IE with no add-ons and see if that helps, if all is well, re-enable them one at a time to see which one is causing the problem.
Give it a go, good luck and post your results.

Sorry for getting back to you so late. I had not been keeping tabs on what was causing my problem. It seems that when I open things in my spam folder, this is when the problem occurs. Will continue to see if it happens at other times. Vista and IE8 is what I am using.. It seems to me to happen after I downloaded some IE8 and Windows updates, may be wrong.

Do you get an error number when this happens ?.
Also, look in the Event Viewer and see if any error about this is being recorded there.
You can try and reset IE8, go to Tools > Internet Options > Advanced, and press the reset button, this will reset all the IE options to default.
Disable all add-ons and try, if all is well, enable them one at a time to see which one is causing the problem.

Thanks Stoney, I guess I will have to live with the problem. There is so much that I don't know how to do on a puter. Because of what I don't know, that is why I hate IE8,Windows and Microsoft maybe my next puter will be an Apple. Thanks again. Maybe I will turn my nephew loose on this monster.
