Hello,
I am running Vista 32 Enterprise and am having a problem when I browse some network shares. When I enter the UNC and pull up my file share my explorer.exe will start consuming all of my memory/cpu.
If I map a drive to the same path I can open the files and browse the folder all day long without any issue.
On my devices with 2GB of memory the system becomes unusable and with my 4GB devices I can still use the system but almost all of the physical memory is taken up by explorer.exe
To fix the problem I can either reboot the device or kill explorer.exe and the re run it.
I have a call in to Microsoft enterprise support but they are not able to assist at all (so far) so I thought I would branch my search for help out even more.
Also of note that my environment has a mix of W2K device and Vista - the W2K machines do not exhibit this issue.
Any tips/hints or direction would be most welcome.
Thanks
