Restoring Windows Vista w/o Recovery Disc.

so i need to restore my computer back to the factory settings. problem is i don't have the disc everybody keeps mentioning. i use to have another computer with windows xp on it. i restored that computer without a disc no problem. is there a way to restore vista basic to factory settings without a disc?
